The First Important Process Of Printing Is-- Color Pre Inspection
In recent years, the competition in the printing industry has become increasingly fierce, and the profits of printing enterprises are generally low. On the premise of ensuring the printing quality, printing enterprises show their magic powers in reducing costs, some enterprises improve work efficiency, and some enterprises reduce downtime. The accurate pre inspection of color samples by prepress department can improve production efficiency and reduce costs from the source, which is worth trying by printing enterprises. The author has been engaged in color pre inspection for many years. Here, I share my methods and experience with my peers, hoping to be helpful.
What is color pre inspection?
Color pre inspection is a process that uses the customer's electronic documents to simulate the printing output effect of the factory in the form of soft proofing or digital manuscript without machine printing, then compares and evaluates with the physical color samples provided by the customer, and pre adjusts the electronic documents. Color pre inspection can carry out corresponding color management in advance for customers' electronic documents and physical color samples, so as to achieve the best color matching, with high speed and low cost.
Customer's physical color samples are generally divided into standard color samples and non-standard color samples. Among them, non-standard color samples can be subdivided into printing samples and finished product samples.
Standard color sample pre inspection
The standard color sample is according to gracol_ Digital color samples printed by 2006, forga39l and other standards. When the standard color sample is used for color pre inspection, the screen soft proofing method can be used to compare with the electronic file. For the soft proofing display, it is best to use Yizhuo, an industry certified display, and regularly use colornavigator, i1profile, profilemaker and other software and professional equipment for correction. Similarly, the digital printers used by printing enterprises also need to be calibrated regularly. Similar PS, acrobat and other software shall also be embedded in the ICC characteristic files such as swop, gracol and Forga, and the embedded ICC characteristic files have been removed from the electronic files provided by the customer. When observing the color sample, standard lighting sources such as D50 or D65 shall be used.
When comparing, if the standard color sample is consistent with the display effect of electronic documents, it can be used for color matching. If the two are slightly different, it is generally reflected in the color deviation of the standard color sample or electronic document in one direction (red or blue), but the color deviation degree is within the acceptable range of normal printing color difference, it can also be used for color tracking.
If it is found that the color deviation degree of the two has exceeded the acceptable range of printing color difference, first, it is necessary to judge whether the parameters of the screen display are within the standard range; Second, the measurement equipment I1, EFI, GMG and other software can be used to scan the measurement and control strip on the standard color sample to check whether the maximum and average values of kcmy field color block and gray block on the measurement and control strip are qualified (as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2). If the above two inspection results are normal, the print compensation curve can be used to pre adjust the electronic document.
